A Partnership With a Purpose

deux mains is where fashion meets ethics. Founded by Julie Colombino as a means of fighting poverty in Haiti, deux mains offers beautiful sandals, totes, and accessories crafted by Haitian artisans from local, and upcycled materials. In collaboration with its nonprofit partner, REBUILD globally, deux mains maintains a holistic business ecosystem that tackles the root causes of poverty in Haiti by creating and preserving dignified employment.

Not only we redesigned their e-commerce solution we also provided an essential rebranding that focused on bringing an experience to their brand persona. The goal was to give the user an experience with easy to absorb information, storytelling and while focusing on products instead of merely impressive website functions. The objective of their typical customer is to make purchases that make an impact, so we focused on telling deux mains’ unique story. We put their ethical products at the forefront and made sure the user never lost sight of the deux mains story and their unique profit-non-profit partnership.

We worked together on reshaping their brand and helping them put their customer at the center of the focus. It was vital for them to reach the right market and we were able to accomplish this by creating a full 360 creative strategy easy to follow through.

We focused on their persona’s need to feel unique, adventurous, and to make an impact thanks to their purchase. We created a deep connection between the buyer, and deux mains by making the buyer part of the narrative. We focused on their needs, emotions, and discoveries. The imagery, copy, and product descriptions that we created told the story of deux mains and invited the buyer to take a journey to Haiti, meet the artisans that handcraft deux mains’ products, and truly experience the positive social impact that their purchase makes. By bringing our unique creative direction to the deux mains story, we were able to help their brand connect with a worldwide audience that already has a genuine passion for ethical products.
